Fiesta Dinnerware and Talavera Tablescape

What inspires your style?

As you can probably tell if you’ve looked over our blog, we love items that are unique and handmade like glassware, Talavera dishes, textiles, and the occasional antique find. Eclectic might be a good description for it. We try not to stay within one style but find things we really like.

We often mix and match our Fiesta dinnerware with some of our antique or vintage pieces. The solid colors complement a variety of different table settings. A beautiful Talavera dish from an antique shop, or a vintage Mexican candleholder, make perfect accent pieces. Here we combined them with cobalt and marigold Fiesta dinner plates, dark blue napkins, and bougainvillea from our yard. But you could easily change the look with different colors and patterns.

Where do you get your glassware?

Our collection of handblown glassware comes from Novica. We like to think of them as functional works of art.

Where do you get your recipes?

Sometimes we’re inspired by colorful fruits and vegetables, family recipes, or something we’ve come up with for ourselves that we think could make a great dish for the blog. There are a few exceptions where we’ve adapted dishes that we enjoy, but in those cases, it’s noted on the post.
