Where do you get your recipes?

Sometimes we’re inspired by colorful fruits and vegetables, family recipes, or something we’ve come up with for our own dinners that we think could make a great dish for the blog. If we’re at a restaurant, or come across a recipe we love, we may rethink some of the basic ingredients and try to reinvent it.

Our collection of handblown glassware comes from Novica. We like to think of them as functional works of art.

Your recipe calls for cured Spanish chorizo. Can I substitute Mexican chorizo instead?

No. Spanish chorizo is dried, cured, and ready to eat, whereas Mexican chorizo is raw and needs to be cooked. You can find Spanish chorizo at larger supermarkets, specialty stores, or online at websites such as La Tienda.

There are several types of pomegranate molasses. Which one should I use for your recipes?

Look for one that contains 100% pure pomegranate juice with no added sugar or any additives. It tastes different enough that it will change the flavor of the recipe. Mymouné and Al Wadi Natural are both good brands. They can be found in the honey and molasses section of some stores, or you can purchase them online.
